Pictures appear to be replaceable so they would have to be free images. If you are willing to release your images with a free license then the place to upload them is at Commons. You can log in with the same username and password that you log in here with and you don't need any additional rights to do that. GB fan 04:56, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am a college student working on a school project. One piece of the project is to generate or edit a wiki page on a human gene. The gene I chose does not already have a wiki page so I am creating one. I need to upload images of graphs and alignments I've done. I don't use wikipedia regularly and don't actively participate in editing pages. I only became a user so I could complete this project & I have no idea where to start to do edits to become autoconfirmed Burli018 (talk) 23:23, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I respectfully request access to the Roanoke City, Virginia article. I have updated crime data and information to post in place of the dated information currently on the site. I work for the Roanoke Police Department as Supervisor of the Planning Unit. The data posted will be entirely factual and can be reference. Most of the information furnished is from the orginial source (Dr. Van Patten) and more accurately respresents crime rates. RoanokePD (talk) 13:34, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done To begin with you should either start a new account or request a name change. The reason is your username gives the appearance that you are posting on behalf of the Roanoke Police Department. You should read WP:ORGNAME. Next the first step for a new user that wants to edit a semi-protected article should always be discussion on the talk page. So after a name change or with a new account go to the talk page and discuss the edits you want to make. GB fan 20:43, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Not done Hi, and thank you for creating an account to edit Wikipedia. Although I fully understand your desire to dive right in, many of our articles are semi-protected because they are controversial, prone to vandalism, or other reasons. As a new editor with few edits, it might be wise to discuss your edits on the article talkpage in order to gain consensus for your edits, or use {{Edit semi-protected}} to request the edit be performed. I only recommend this until you're used to the challenges of reliable sources, the biographies of living persons policy, and other similar things. The good news is that fewer than 5% of Wikipedia articles are protected; this means that 95% of the articles can use your help right now! (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 08:42, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have typed a biography on someone I know and I would like to upload it to Wikipedia. It is factually correct and there is no information in the biography which could be legally contentious. I am not normally a user of Wikipedia so have not made any edits to other material, and have no intention to do so. Would it be possible for an administrator to make my account confirmed manually please?hts Professor1949 (talk) 12:53, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Already done You are already autoconfirmed since you have made 10 edits and created your account at least 4 days ago. However, if you were to move the article you created, User:Professor1949/Tim Wilson (mathematician) to the article space it would be immediately tagged for deletion. The article is about a living person (yourself?) and our policy requires all biographies of living people to be sourced. GB fan 16:02, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to add information to Tim Tebow's page about his books. I would like to update the bestseller status of "Through My Eyes" and add that there is a young readers' edition called "Through My Eyes: A Quarterback's Journey." I also think "Books" should be a sub-section of "In the Media." Please confirm! Thank you!

Recently, I was viewing the Sonic the Hedgehog (character) Wikipedia page, and I, as someone somewhat knowledgeable in StH history, am interested in being able to edit the currently semi-protected Sonic the Hedgehog (character) page, hoping to provide any necessary edits (accuracy, updating content, etc).
