this article is informative, but weak. don't have time to do this myself, but it most certainly needs:

  • pictures of boards;
  • conclusion of history;
  • list of renju world champs.
  • and of course, all the currently proposed alternative rules, from which the new rules will be chosen from in 2006.

--Wow, I didn't know it's been solved yet. Thanks for the link. (Wuzzy, 29.3.2006)
Renju (with opening rules implied) isn't solved, of course.

Why the black restrictions ?

Whay are there so many restrictions placed on black?--GringoInChile 18:40, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--Because it (gomoku) has been solved. Black is the first to play, so has an advantage over White in the game. Without the restrictions, Black theoretically would win for sure. Yesitsapril
It seems to me that the restrictions on black ought to give white a heavy advantage. I'm guessing I'm wrong, but then again, I haven't tried playing the game so I don't know. -- Smjg 14:44, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Renju with restrictions on black but without applying of opening rules is solved a long time ago. Formally it was done by Istvan Virag in 2001, but actually the winning plan was known from Japanese theoreticians like Sagara since 1960s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renju player (talkcontribs) 07:46, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
