Requests for registration
Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.
Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
Please add your name to the bottom of the list using *
. Enter your user name exactly as it is, do not add underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter.

If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please add

Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage.

I have contributed to wikipedia for 6 months: 5 as an IP and 1 as an user. I wish I made an account sooner.17:49, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- Very few edits adding to or modify articles. What would you do with AWB? (over 90% revert). Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:21, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- I was under the impression that an explanation wasn't required (for editors with more than 500 non-automated edits and I managed that milestone five years ago) and given my five years and clean record over 13,000 edits I'm surprised to be asked for one. If you look beyond the last 500 edits you'll get a better idea. I fix newly created articles from my own form of patrolling - I look through Special:Uncategorizedpages and, amongst others, add / correct categories, change bare URL references to use

templates, correct manual of style errors, fix a lot of poor English from what are often bad translations from another Wiki, disambiguate them and tag for any further clean-up. Examples from the last two weeks can be found here.here, here, here, here, here. Much of this is tedious and can be semi-automated with AWB. It would also assist with some of the minor clean-up that the articles could do with at the same time. QU TalkQu 21:46, 2 May 2012 (UTC) - Done Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:19, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Looked into this and it is awesome. For start, I will only use on pages that I create in order to save others using AWB time from having to fix any errors. Thanks.

- Not done only about 16 non automated/revert edits. Do several hundred content edits or additions to prove a use for this. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:19, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- Please note that the majority of my edits in the "User:" space eventually ended up as edits to articles. At one point I got into the habit of copying article sections into my sandbox to make multiple changes or major rewrites, so as to not clog up the article history with lots of minor changes, etc. ~Adjwilley (talk) 17:40, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
