- Lately, I have been going through file names which exist on both Wikipedia and on Commons. As a result, I have populated Category:Wikipedia files that shadow a file on Wikimedia Commons and requested moving of various files. In some cases, the solution has been something else, such as proposing a file for deletion or moving it to Commons under a different name. If the solution is to move a file on Wikipedia, it would be practical to be able to perform the move myself (and another user also thought so), so I hereby request file mover permission on Wikipedia. - I have been working in files for upload as well as taking a dip in files for deletion. I have a full knowledge of the policies surrounding files. I have read the copyright policy in full, as well as the file renaming policy and also can distinguish free files from non-free files. I also would not abuse or misuse this tool in any way and understand the responsibility that I would have and I understand that I should not re-name a file to just make it look better. The tool could improve my overall ability to help out the project and I would also be open to recall should others feel I am not using the tool properly. I also think Wikipedia could use more file movers who can help out with renaming requests. Hghyux (talk to me)(talk to others) 21:50, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
