Shekhar C. Mande is an Indian Structural Biologist.[2] He did his MSc in Physics from University of Nagpur. He holds Doctor of philosophy in Molecular Biophysics, FASc, and FNASc from the Indian Institute of Science, supplemented with Post Doctoral position from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands. He was a senior scientist at Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics. He is positioned as Director at National Centre for Cell Science in Pune, India.[3][4]

He was awarded in 2005 the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, the highest science award in India, in the Biological sciences category.[5]
