David Haydn Raven (born March 10, 1985, in Wirral) is an English football player, who currently plays for Liverpool as a right sided or central defender, having initially started playing in Tranmere Rovers's academy while attending Calday Grange Grammar School on the Wirral.

Raven made his first team debut with a man of the match display during the Carling Cup quarter-final win at Tottenham in December 2004 and has gone on to play in two further games: disappointing defeats to Burnley in the FA Cup Third Round and Southampton in the Barclays Premiership. A lifelong Liverpool fan, the defender played a number of games at centre half for the reserves throughout 2004 but Rafael Benitez, having been impressed with the youngster since his arrival in the summer, sees his best position as a right back.

His debut Liverpool performance came in a victory against Tottenham Hotspur, and he has gone on to play in the F.A. Cup and the Premier League. He signed a new two year contract with Liverpool in December 2004. Captain of Liverpool's reserve team, he is currently on loan at Tranmere Rovers.
