Bopal is a satellite town in the Ahmedabad district of the Indian state of Gujarat.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Bopal had a population of 12,181. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bopal has an average literacy rate of 80%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 84% and female literacy of 75%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Economy

Inductotherm India, Ltd has a manufacturing hub and office at Bopal Main Road. Also Thakar & Company Systems engaged in Medical Transcription Services, E.L.V Consultancy is located and having its office in Bopal near Sarkari Tube-well and Safal Infosoft P. Ltd. is located and having its office in Bopal near Sarkari Tube-well.

Bopal developed too fast in last 5 to 7 years. Because of development of Sardar Patel Ring Road since 3 to 4 years - the development is even fast. People of Bopal have now multiplex theatre City Gold. Also the new BRTS route in the second phase would go up to Sun City cross-roads in Bopal. This route would include a direct line from Shivranjini cross-roads to the Bopal roundabout.

Suncity Township on Sardar Patel Ring road, SafalParisar-I and II, Maruti Nandan Villa-1, Bopal 444 and Aarohi, Amramanjri Bunglows, Basant bahar, Shyam Villa - II, Sureel Willows etc. are some of the popular names.

Around 2005 many new properties have come up on Basant Bahar Road (Some people call it Gala Gymkhana Road). Village Ghuma and Bopal are very close - it is hard to differentiate.

There are two famous points, location Umiya Mata Temple and Sarkari Tubewell on Bopal Main Road - which has been made wider.

Bopal Area has many schools - DPS, Shivashish, St. Anns, Tulip etc. etc.

Drinking water has high TDS. Most of the dwellers either use R.O water.

There are highest number of banks (HDFC BANK at Bopal Main circle, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of India, Dena Bank, Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank, Kalupur Bank and Punjab National Bank - which launched one branch at Ghuma, Bank Of India also launched its Ghuma Branch recently The state-of-the-art Krishna Heart Center is also located in Ghuma. Ghuma Village has a beautiful lake and lots of temples too. Sureel Willows is the only 5 storied mid rise residential apartment scheme located near Krisha Heart.

Drainage line was a big problem but now local authorities AUDA have completed drainage facilities and most of the properties in Bopal are now connected with drainage line. Also Rain Water pipe line is almost on completion. AUDA also initiated to widen the roads in Bopal along with the BRTS route up to Sun City, for which work has already been started and is near completion.

In recent past education institute like ED24 have come up in Bopal imparting quality education in Computer Training, spoken English as well as Vedic Maths. Several classes for personal school tuitions have also seen multifold increase.

The main road connecting Ghuma and Bopal with S.P. Ring Road nowadays observes very high traffic during office hours in morning as well as evening.
