Vuclip is a mobile video company that allows users to search for and watch web videos on any video-enabled mobile device.[2] According to data from Opera, it is one of the top 30 mobile sites globally[3] and one of the top ten mobile sites in India.[4]

Vuclip has partnerships with carriers throughout India including Bharti Airtel, Tata DoCoMo, and Vodafone. The company also has deals in Southeast Asia with Maxis Communications, XL Axiata, and Telkomsel.[5]

The company dynamically transcodes, optimizes and delivers videos to mobile devices in real-time.[6] They have served up over 2 billion video views to users worldwide. It took the company 31 months from its inception to serve up 1 billion video views and it served up its 2 billionth video view eight months later.[7]

The company is private and has received funding[8] from NEA[9] and Jafco Ventures.[10] The company closed a Series C round of funding in May 2011 and raised $8 million from previous investors NEA and Jafco.[11] The company closed a Series D round of funding in November 2012 and raised $13 million with SingTel Innov8 as the lead investor. Existing investors NEA and Jafco also participated in Vuclip's Series D.[12]

It also lets online publishers and content owners make their video content available on mobile devices through a white-label API program.[13]

Founded in 2004, the company was formerly known as blueapple.mobi, before launching as Vuclip in the summer of 2008.[14] The company is located in Milpitas, CA with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Beijing, and Shenzhen.
