Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (Hindi: सपने सुहाने लड़कपन के, English Translation: The Sweet Dreams of Adolescence) is an Indian television series that started airing on Zee TV from 21 May 2012 and replaced Chotti Bahu. It is the story of two cousins, Rachna and Gunjan, who become friends. Rachna is a simple girl, while Gunjan is free spirited & fun-loving. She came from Mumbai to live with Rachna's family after her mother's death.

Plot

Gunjan is a smart, suave, 17 year old girl from Mumbai, the largest city in India. She has wonderful relationship with her mother, Sneha. Tragically, Sneha is diagnosed with cancer and passes away, leaving Gunjan with a permanent void in her life. Her father wants to take her to Australia with him where he has a big business, but Gunjan's aunt(masi), Shail now takes her under her wings and requests her to come and stay with her. Gunjan now moves to Banaras with her aunt. Here in the city of Banaras, in her auntie's house, where she has to share her room with Rachna who is Shail's 16 year old daughter. Gunjan who was from a nuclear family in Mumbai now comes to Banaras to live in a joint family headed by Dayal (Rachna's father) who runs a garment shop and lives with his two brothers and their families under one roof. Gunjan is told to share the room with Rachna,a long haired girl, wearing a loose suit so that her figure cannot be seen properly, shabby eyebrows – a complete contrast to Gunjan. Rachna is brought up in a very traditional and conservative manner in a middle class Banaras household. Shail's husband-Dayal,Rachna's father has laid down strict rules and regulations for Rachna. However, Gunjan who has been brought up in a free and spirited environment in Mumbai, now begins to feel a little stuck in the small town of Banaras, but for Rachna, Gunjan is like a window to a world that she has neither lived nor wants to experience.

Thus begins the story of Gunjan and Rachna, a story of young girls who are like chalk and cheese – one is smart and suave and the other gawky and awkward. Gunjan speaks without thinking and Rachna has been taught to never question anything. Rachna has an elder sister Pihu who was married early and she knew her father Dayal wanted a son the second time and has not loved her that much but she is her mother's ladli. Rachna has also vowed never to do anything which may upset her father and the brunt comes on her mother. Gunjan finds herself in this whirlwind situation where she has to adjust to the new family and especially Rachna. On the other hand Gunjan is like a "new attraction" a "ajooba" to Rachna's family. After the initial conflict between the two sisters, slowly they form a bond. They both are head strong girls but are nice at heart. Will they get to enjoy those wonder years before they are pressurized by their families to get married and live a life that's expected from them? Will Gunjan and Rachna bring the change in the life's of women who wants to relive their aspirations? Will Gunjan and Rachna become the role models for the sisters who have left their relations in keeping up with their own family responsibilities? Will they bring back the sweet memories of sibling bond and love once more in forefront ? This is a story of love, everlasting friendship, the joys of sharing & caring, the fights and the make ups between sisters who may not be related by blood but form a connection that completes each other.

Gunjan and Mayank- Rachna's elder cousin brother, fall in love during his and Charu's sangeet. After much time on Gunjan's birthday Shail watches them romancing with each other and afterwards it is revealed to the whole family. Mayank's mother and aunt(chaachi)are annoyed with Gunjan and plan to bring problems and misunderstandings in their relationship.The whole family leaving Mayank's mother and aunt are convinced and Mayank and Gunjan plan to take their relationship to the next level. Mayank's mother and aunt make a plan to break Gunjan and Mayank's relationship by doing something or the other. They are successful at the end and then Mayank asks Charu in front of everybody to marry him. Gunjan is heartbroken and when she goes to say sorry, she overhears Mayank praising Charu while talking to her on the phone. Gunjan listens all this and she is upset and at the same time angry with Mayank. Sangeeta and Seema strike again with their plan, and set Charu up with Mayank, making Gunjan think they were making out. Dolu gets suspicious and uses his "handy-cam" to record Seema and Sangeeta's plan with Charu. Charu spills juice on Mayank's shirt. When Mayank is changing his shirt, Gunjan comes to talk with him but runs into Charu who says he's romantic, which angers Gunjan. A family meeting occurs in which Gujan says she does not wish to marry Mayank. At the same time, Pihu, Rachana's sister comes to visit. She expresses happiness at Charu's possible marriage to Mayank. But Rachana, Shail, and Gunjan are sad about the recent turn of events. Charu and her family come with presents and want to do the marriage in a few days.
