The previous listing mentioned $4000 being raised in 1863 and then at the time of the "sack of Lawrence", which was an earlier incident in 1856. It seems likely the description meant to refer to the Lawrence Massacre, a different incident in 1863. I hope I am not miswriting history, as I changed the mention to the Lawrence Massacre, instead. However, it would be preferred if someone could confirm the 2nd $4,000 fundraising related to that, not to the earlier sacking of Lawrence... Don 08:54, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
In the history section is says:
The first schools in the town were private. One of the first was opened in 1857 by Lizzie Bay. The first school district was established in October 1858, and a month later the Atchison free high school was opened at the corner of Atchison and Commercial streets.
But Atchison and Commercial streets are parallel to each other - there is no corner of Atchison and Commercial streets. Kslattery 04:17, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
