Christina Aguilera is an American pop music singer. Her first concert tour was in North America, where she performed in more than 63 cities during 2000. It was extended through the United States in July, August and October 2000. In 2001, the tour went through Latin America and Asia, where it grossed $35 million. In 2003, She began promoting the new album to tour with Justin Timberlake, performing during 2003 in North America with 44 dates. After the end of the American leg, Aguilera left alone on tour in Europe, Asia, and Australia, and the tour is estimated to have grossed over U.S. $ 45.8 million and over $115 million internationally, becoming Aguilera's highest grossing tour and one of the highest grossing tours of 2003. In 2004, Aguilera was expected to return to North America in the Summer of 2004, however, the 27 dates were canceled at the last minute, because of lesions of the vocal cords. She returned in 2006 with the Back to Basics Tour, in support of her similarly titled album. The tour grossed $90 million, becoming Aguilera's second highest grossing tour and the highest grossing tour of 2007 for a Female. Aguilera planned to tour in summer 2010 to promote Bionic, but her management team revealed the tour was cancelled due to Aguilera promoting her film, Burlesque. However, sources have indicated that unexpectedly low ticket sales and lack of interest were the reasons why the tour was cancelled.
