Garcha is a family surname of Punjabi Jatts who are believed to have originated from the village Majara, Kohara, in Ludhiana district of Punjab. Garchas are descendants of Tanwar rajputs/ Toor Jatts.[citation needed]

They are believed to have ruled over Delhi in the 11th century, after which they settled in the Ferozepur area, before moving on to Ludhiana somewhere around the 12th century. Before migrating to Punjab, they made the plains of the Jamuna River around Delhi their home.{{Citation needed|date=November
