Online use

Note that this enforcement isn't really effective; there are plenty of KSSN generators online for those foreigners who want to play Korean MMORPGs. Will not work at police stations, though. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 06:37, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sadly, the penalties are useless since the majority faking KSSN's are foreigners frustrated by a restrictive website. I see an even worse possiblity if sites start verifying the names and phone numbers - people sharing KSSN+name+address+phone# lists which is horrible for people's privacy. I believe they have revoked most of this law and placed restrictions on the types of sites that can require this information - probably due to suggestions by law enforcement and banks outside South Korea!71.196.246.113 (talk) 22:49, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
