do the words pitch, slope, angle, incline etc. have subtle distinctions when used in roofing, or are they used interchangably? In math slope is usually a ratio, and an angle is measured in degrees or radians; does this apply to roofing as well?
'CATSLIDE ROOF. A roof with one side longer than the other, continuing at the same pitch over an extension to a building.'

function?
What are the functions of a pitched roof? Rtdrury (talk) 04:12, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- Added language from roof.--Knulclunk (talk) 05:26, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Framing Square
A photograph of someone using a framing square to measure a 4/12 pitch would be a great addition to this article...... --Knulclunk (talk) 05:43, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Merger proposal
Merge. There is nothing material there (that belongs there) that isn't covered (or contradicted) at the Roof pitch article. It should be a subhead there. Wikiuser100 (talk) 13:53, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- I agree that there should be a single 'pitched roof' article. 'Roof pitch' is simply the angle or slope of a pitched roof. This (roof pitch) article also appears to be US-centric. In the UK construction industry and Building Regulations, roof pitch is quoted in degrees. 80.176.88.21 (talk) 12:08, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
