Current Commissioned Work

Currently, I have commissioned twelve topics, as of March 23, 2013, and three are related to Wiki Project: The Sims Task Force, one for Wiki Project: Pro Wrestling Task Force, and eight are in literature.

  1. More plot,
  2. Heavily relied on the plot currently there, and
  3. Improve references.
  1. All plot heavily relied on
  2. Improve references.
  3. This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. (September 2008)
  1. Article Stub that needs expanding,
  2. More plot,
  3. heavily relies on the current amount of plot, and
  4. improve references.

Multiple infractions as of March 23, 2013, which are:

  1. the plot section may require copy editing for grammar, style, cohesion, tone, or spelling. You can assist by editing it. (August 2012) and
  2. In March 2011, this article was flagged for heavily depending on plot summary.
  1. Article stub that needs expanding
  2. References need improving,
  3. heavily relied on all current plot, and
  4. more plot is needed with more information on the series.
  1. Improve references,
  2. All plot is heavily relied on,
  3. Filed under the film portion and it is quoted: "This section is outdated. Please update this article to reflect recent events or newly available information. (January 2013)"

This article needs expanding due to it being a stub.

  1. All plot is heavily relied on, and
  2. Improve references.

User:Sundogs/The Bourne Supremacy (novel) This article was flagged in April 2013 for majority or all depending on plot.

  1. This article is flagged in February 2011 for relying heavily on the plot summary.

Two issues, as of March 23, 2013 when picking Literature topics, which are:

  1. This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. (February 2011)
  2. This article may contain original research. Please improve it by verifying the claims made and adding references. Statements consisting only of original research may be removed. (December 2011)

As a response to the recent Good Article nomination of The Sims 3, see below, this sandbox is dedicated to the reworking of the article. Open critiques is welcomed on my talk page and I will carefully and respectfully rework the article and ask The Sims Wiki Project members give final review upon request to evaluate this article and further deployment. As noted below in the GA Review, I will make sure that all things be done in a timely manner and have the current topics of this game being in the final version draft for The Sims Project members to peer-to-peer review.

  1. The gameplay section is way too detailed and completely lacks reliable sources. I suggest creating a separate article called "Gameplay of The Sims 3" for a more in-depth description of the gameplay (use The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and World of Warcraft as examples), and leave the section to explain the basics. Also, you should mention the game genre, which is something crucial in a gameplay section. How about starting like this: The Sims 3 is a single-player life simulation game in which the player controls individuals, called Sims, in a similar manner to real life.
  2. The article is badly organized. If this is supposed to be the PC version of the game, why does the infobox include other platforms? Why is there a "Traits" subsection (for iOS) in the development section? Why is there a separate article for the console versions that has almost no notability? Why is there info about the first expansion and the DS version in the release subsection, but nothing about the rest? The entire article really needs to be reorganized and recast.
  3. The expansion packs, stuff packs, and DLC can be moved to a separate list article called "List of The Sims 3 add-ons", kinda like List of StarCraft media or List of Final Fantasy media.
  4. The article doesn't have much on reception. I'm sure that a game like The Sims 3 can have 3 or 4 paragraph of text in that section.
  5. All references should make use of Template:Cite web and should list the publish date, publisher, author (if any), title, URL and access date.

In conclusion, there are enough significant issues in the article in that merely placing on hold is not going to do any good, so I am going to fail this GA nomination soon. My suggestions are the following: Keep things simple, fix the article scope and coverage, and fix the basic stuff before expanding it. After that, you may also wish to request a peer review before you re-nominate so that everything is good to go.

This is the first time I review something here at wikipedia. If you have any questions on these points, or if you think I'm being unreasonable, please ask. --Niwi3 (talk) 11:52, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Two issues found:

  1. This article's tone or style may not reflect the encyclopedic tone used on Wikipedia. See Wikipedia's guide to writing better articles for suggestions. (February 2012)
  2. The Sims Project Task Force has marked this for articles to clean up: Since February 2012; Subsequent pick up by: Sundogs on March 23, 2013

Former Good Article nominee on April 4, 2007 but failed to meet standards; see next statements.

Unfortunately it's a fail for now and improvements necessary for GA:
Article needs a re-org. Article is way too strongly weighted towards the "History" section - in fact, the whole thing is History. I would suggest creating new top-level headings on major topics of relevance to the WCW and reworking much of the existing material into those. A good deal of the history sub-section could also go into a sub-article. (See National Hockey League, a GA, for an example of a well-organized article in a similar genre). This will be a major task.
Writing is generally very good, but there is a nasty run-on sentence with comma misuse in the lead (first paragraph).
Per WP:LAYOUT please put "details", "main", "see also" templates after section headings but before the text.
A good number of paragraphs do not have any citations. Some have NPOV problems; for example "Another thing Bischoff may have failed to consider..." - an opinion like this is fine only if it comes from a reliable source. The "Decline" section is also full of opinions and analyses that do not appear to be sourced.
"Image:Original-nWo.jpg" and "Image:Fingerpoke of Doom.jpg" need detailed fair-use rationales added to their description pages.
Improvements not necessary for GA:
  1. Some of the pictures are pretty low-quality. If you can find better pictures that would improve the article.
  2. Please move all ref tag cites after punctuation.
