User talk:Gollod
Hello, my name is Gollod but I act under the alias of Jack Lonsdale. I hail from Mornington, Victoria, Australia
Who is - Gollod?
[edit]Ok, seeing as I'm new to wikipedia, I'll start simple. I use the username Gollod for alot of things, Including the game Runescape, and Conquer Online (CO). This name was completely random letters typed into a qwerty keyboard and now became a part of my life. The country of australia has become one of the things I'm most proud to be a part of. (All bar the govenment type - ROCK ON ANARCHISM)
Im also having a problem with one of the skins. I tried it, but i seem to have misplaced the link for user preferences...Any advice would be much obliged.
I attend school on the Mornington Peninsula, and enjoy being with my girlfriend. Arron, the man who previously edited this page, ISN'T as smart as he thinks, however, I congratulate him on finally finding my talk page, and wish him much luck in his unfortunate future.\
Also, I resolved the skin issue. Dunke

A tag has been placed on AJ07, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 06:03, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
School IP block
[edit]Whilst this school HAS got a few issue's with vandalism, I would like to request the block be lifted. There isn't alot of vandalism going on, and what does happen is soon rectified by users such as myself. The System Admin's here at school work hard to punish those who vandalise, beit on this website or elsewhere.

Block message:
On request of De La Salle College Malvern
Decline reason: Sorry Gollod but we can't unblock the IP. De La Salle asked for it to be blocked due to the sheer volume of vandalism coming from it. I'm going to delete some revisions of your talk page which someone added personal info to. — Sarah 03:43, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Hey Gollod, thanks for your message. In future though, when you leave people messages on Wikipedia, please make sure that you leave them at the bottom of the page instead of the top. They are very easily missed when left at the top of the page. Sorry for the delay replying, but I only just saw your message now.
You asked why a school would ask for another school's IP address to be blocked. The IP actually belongs to the Catholic Education Office in Melbourne and they assign it to and can share it between schools that fall under their purview. I noticed that you live on the Mornington Peninsula and so I presume the school it is now assigned to is Padua? (I live on the Peninsula myself) Anyway, It doesn't really matter who requested the block because there was a large volume of vandalism coming from the IP and we routinely block school IPs. Do you feel that you need to edit from school? I'm just wondering because you don't seem to edit a lot, which, of course, is fine, but I'm just trying to work out if this block hinders you at all or whether you were just making a general request or something? Cheers, Sarah 13:58, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- By the way, Gollod, I noticed that you tried to add a St Kilda (boo! Up the Mighty HAWKS!) userbox to your userpage but it didn't work. I've fixed it for you. :) But feel free to revert me if you don't like it. Cheers, Sarah 14:58, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. I understand the problem and if there were regular editors who wanted to edit from school but were unable to due to the block, I would be willing to consider tweaking the block so people with accounts could edit over the block but people trying to edit anonymously would still be blocked. Currently, though, there aren't any students that I am aware of who are in this situation and this makes the trade off (the risk of vandalism) seem to be not worthwhile. If you come to know of any students at Padua in this situation, give me a yell and I'll see what I can do. Take care, Sarah 09:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Towe of babel
[edit]Please point out what you did not understand, you can for example just copy and past the sentance to analysis. Thanks Irqirq 06:44, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Padua
[edit]Hey Gollod, I was thinking more about your request above to unblock your school's IP and I've unblocked and reblocked it as anon only and with account creation disabled. This means that if you or any other students want to edit from school, you can but only if you are logged into your accounts. We'll see how that goes but if there are any further problems, it will have to moved back to a hardblock. Cheers, Sarah 00:40, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Help with updating the Office of Police Integrity page
[edit]Hi Gollod, I saw your post on the Wiki Project Australia saying you wanted to contribute. I'm interested in updating the Victoria Office of Police Integrity (OPI) page, as it's written like a press release and doesn't have any discussion on the numerous issues in the OPI (corruption, cover-ups of human rights abuses etc) that are regularly reported in reputable Australian media outlets. I've left a comment in the discussion page with a huge list of links and will be doing more myself. Sorry if this is the wrong area to be posting this, I'm somewhat new to editing and that's part of the reason I'm asking for help with editing the OPI page.
thanks
