Hydrological data for river

Figures for average discharge contains not. I'd be surprised if iceable discrepancy in russian sources, namely, it is pointed out that:

Lena River
higher Aldan River inflow - 4500 m³/s
below Aldan River inflow - 6800 m³/s
Aldan River average discharge - 5040 - 5200 m³/s

Consequently, there is a lack more than 2900 m³/s. It can be that flow rate for Aldan was exaggerated, different time of observations was present or something else. And a lot of figures contains too many zeroes at their end also. So they would be more precise.--Beaber (talk) 23:12, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I found some link, perhaps, this information can be useful for article: Hydro-Station (files) list of Russia, UNESCO: Water resources--Beaber (talk) 11:52, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Lena is listed as having average flow of about 16000 cubic meters per second and a maximum of 240000 cubic meters per second. Can someone verify this upper number? I'm no river expert but:

  • this is more than the average flow from the Amazon
  • the maximum flow is 15 times the average

Lenin

I have taken out this passage on the adoption of the pseudonym because it seems unnecessary to discuss a length suggestions that are clearly wrong:

It has been suggested that this was done after the events leading to the Lena Goldfields Massacre of workers by the tsarist Russian Army in April 1912, although the adoption of his pseudonym predates this event. Another suggestion is that the adoption comes about as a result of a personal feud with Georgi Plekhanov, who called himself Volgin after the Volga river. The Lena is much stronger and flows in the opposite direction as the Volga, thus it was be an obvious choice; Ulyanov, however, had no disagreement with Plekhanov when he first began to use the name.--Jack Upland (talk) 17:53, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Along the Lena

This section needs to be rewritten in clear, grammatical English. Perhaps an expert can understand it but I can't.--Jack Upland (talk) 17:54, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
