California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) is a large non-profit, academic medical center in San Francisco.[citation needed]

California Pacific Medical Center is a combination of four former San Francisco medical institutions: Pacific Presbyterian Hospital, Children's Hospital of San Francisco, Davies Medical Center, and St. Luke's Hospital. They are now known, respectively, as the Pacific Campus (2333 Buchanan Street, San Francisco), the California Campus (3700 California Street), Davies Campus (Castro & Duboce Streets), and the St. Luke's Campus (3555 Cesar Chavez Street) of California Pacific Medical Center.[1]

The former St. Luke's Hospital officially merged with CPMC in January 2007. It[clarification needed] had been an affiliate of Sutter Health since 1996.

CPMC hosts the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute, which conducts basic science and clinical studies into a range of topics. The research institute is directed by Michael Rowbotham, M.D.[citation needed]
