Nice bit of work Jim, just a couple of comments from a quick skim through.

It was Dutch SS units that engaged the 4th Brigade when it landed at Ginkel Heath (Dutch SS Wach Battalion).

I don't have Urquhart's book (not in the bibliography by the way), but Hackett himself makes no mention of a coma in his book I was a Stranger. He also went to the Hartenstein basement.

Changed coma to seriously injured - ~~was the Hartenstein the first or second time he was injured. My source says Kate ter Horst's house the first time but just the Casualty Clearing Station the second time?~~ just re-read and previous page says the Hartenstein.

I don't think Hicks took command of the division until Monday morning. The first part of the Staffs didn't leave the LZs until the morning of the 18th and didn't arrive at Arnhem proper until the afternoon of that day. There were no additional efforts to break through to the bridge on the night of the 17th (beyond the plan), as the 1st and 3rd battalions were still in Oosterbeek area. The decision to send the 11th was at the same time as the decision to release the Staffs.

was lt col Smythe wounded and taken prisoner in the woods before 4th parabrigade entered Oosterbeek as stated in this lemma or did he join the remnants of his battallion into Oosterbeek as described at the 10th battallion wiki page. funny enough they use the same book as a reference but state something different. I know its a small detail but I could not help noticing it. what should it be? Dutchdoc (talk) 22:00, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
