What one would need to know to begin with is, does the sim support a single controller device, or multiple control devices?

There is possible a mistake. "Shlem" /Russian for helmet/ is a name of air combat mode. I mean there are such modes of combat on those fighters like DVB /BVR/, BVB /CAC/, Zemlya /Ground/ and Shlem is one of them. So possibly it is not the name of the system.
