David Henry Hamilton

David Henry Hamilton (Aug. 8, 1843 - May 30, 1929) was a Texas farmer and a military officer for the Texas Brigade (also known as Hood Brigade) Company M - First Texas Volunteer Infantry. After his surrender at the Appomattox Court House during the American Civil War he returned home to Sumpter, Texas May 25, 1865 without injury, and later lived in Centralia in Trinity County, Texas.[1]

He served in the Texas House of Representatives in the Twenty-third Texas Legislature[1] from Jan 10, 1893 - Jan 8, 1895 . He was a member of the Democratic Party. His district covered the counties of Montgomery, Trinity, Walker. He also served as District County Judge in Haskell County, Texas, Trinity County Sheriff Officer 1865-1867. . David Henry Hamilton is also the great great grandfather of Texas Governor Rick Perry[2]
