copper vs fiber-optic latency

"Certain data-center applications (such as large computer clusters) require the use of fiber-optic interconnects due to the distance and latency limitations inherent in copper cabling."

'latency limitations inherent in copper cabling'

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080822183553AAqkj9m http://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/2537/physically-induced-latency-in-internet-connections

These links suggest that the commonly used fiber is slower, but recently there has been development of hollow/empty core fiber which is faster, so certainly some financial trade related data centers and cables could be using it already.

Mini PCI Express Pinout

The pinout for the Mini PCI Express connector is listed on the German language version of the Mini PCI Express page (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_PCI_Express). I'm not comfortable editing this page directly, and I cannot verify the information listed on the German page, however I think it would be ideal to either move Mini PCI to it's own page as it is on the German site, or to at least list the pinout here. Differential Signalling

The text of the article says that differential signalling is used, but the pinouts mark one conductor of each pair as 0V reference and the other as signal. One or the other must be wrong. Which? GoldenRing (talk) 10:00, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Too much information about the old PCI?

I just wonder if this article talks way too much about the old PCI. Probably better to isolate the comparison between PCIe and PCI to one section only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.23.88.39 (talk) 16:51, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Drawbacks of PCIe?

Scanning the article, I dint see any or a section on that. 74.60.161.158 (talk) 14:04, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
