Helena Chan Rui Ying (born 6 July 1989) is a half Swedish/half Hong Kong Channel [V] VJ and professional model[2]. She is best known for representing Hong Kong in the first cycle of Asia's Next Top Model, and finished top 6. She is the current host of STAR World's Style Setter. Helena is a keen shark fin activist.[3] As a top model, she has graced the cover of top fashion magazines, including Harper's Bazaar, Esquire, Baccarat Magazine, MRMagazine[4], and currently work for her own show line inspired by herself.

Early life

Helena is a kindergarten teacher in Hong Kong, a place where she was raised for 13 years, and works as a freelance model. She starts her modeling career in the age of 15. [5]Before signed to Elite Model Management, she was rejected in various model agency. After recommended by her friends, she then joined Asia's Next Top Model, representing Hong Kong and finished at top 6. After her successful impressive portfolio in the show, she enjoys a great kickstart to her career as a celebrity in Hong Kong. Among her top model campaign is Inniu Campaign and fashion spread in Harper's Bazaar. She was inspired by supermodel like Cara Delevingn and fashion designer Roberto Cavalli[6].
