Aahat (आहट Āhaṭa) was an Indian thriller/horror television series created, written and directed by B. P. Singh for Sony Entertainment Television India and Sony Entertainment Television Asia. The series, which premiered five after the launch of Sony TV on 5 October 1995, ran for five seasons, ending on 25 November 2010, with a total of more than 450 episodes produced.[1]

Aahat was first shot in 1994 as a suspense thriller, and began broadcast on 5 October 1995. After about 40 episodes with the same theme, one episode with a supernatural theme was made and when audiences for the series rose sharply, it made the switch.[2]

Season 2: 2004-2005

After the successful completion of more than 250 episodes of the season 1, Aahat 2 was telecast on 19 November, 2004.[3] Urmila Matondkar had made a special appearance in the episodes "Daheshat Part-1 and 2" on 20 and 27 May 2005 to promote her film Naina (2005 film).[4]

Season 3: 2007

After successfully completing more than 250 episodes, the third season was titled as Aahat: Dahshat Ki Teesri Dastak which was broadcast on 13 January 2007 on every Saturday at 10 PM IST. The show was packed with double thrill, as the episodic format was also changed from half an hour to 1 hour episode, each story being covered in a single episode. The genres of the show remained constant that are: horror, suspense and thriller. The first episode of the season was "Rooh". The season was ended on 9 June 2007. There was a complete of 21 episodes.[5]

Season 4: 2009-2010

The fourth season was called Aahat: All New Series, which premiered on 13 November 2009 and telecast on every Friday and Saturday at 11 PM IST.[6] Though the episode format was same as of season 3, yet each story was being split across two episodes. It stars Chaitanya Choudhury as Harsh, Krystle D'Souza as Yamini and Vishal Gandhi as Raghav, playing the permanent lead who are blessed with special powers but are unaware of it. They work for PASAR (Paranormal and supernatural activities research) where the head is Durjan, an old man who collects power from the spirits for his boss. He has passed his whole life doing this work and in each episode he gives Harsh, Yamini and Raghav a new assignment.[7] The season had three C.I.D.-Aahat crossover episodes in total. The first crossover episode was the first episode of this season "Khajan Mail" on 13 November 2009, "Darr" on 12 February 2010,[8] and "Shaitaani Khat" on 25 June 2010. The season ended on 26 June 2010. There was a complete of 66 episodes with 33 stories. This series was hit among the other horror shows.

Season 5: 2010

The season premiered on 28 June 2010. It stars Chaitanya Choudhury, Vishal Gandhi and Krystle D'Souza.[9] Jimmy Shergill had made a special appearance in the episodes "A Flat Part I and II" on 25-26 October 2010 to promote his film A Flat (2010).[10] The season ended on 25 November 2010, due to the decrease in TRP ratings of this show.[11]
