Metanx is a medical food made by Pamlab that contains L-methylfolate (vitamin B9), methylcobalamin (vitamin B12) and pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (vitamin B6). It is a vitamin B supplement.
It is indicated for the treatment of endothelial dysfunction and hyperhomocysteinemia. In particular it has been shown to be an effective treatment for diabetic peripheral neuropathy[1][2], reducing symptoms of neuropathy, though not improving sensation.[3] It can also improve lower extremity ulcerations such as diabetic foot ulcers.[4]
Metanx contains the following active ingredients (per capsule):
- L-methylfolate (Metafolin): 3 mg
- Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate: 35 mg
- Methylcobalamin: 2 mg
