Alex Doolan (born 29 November 1985) is an Australian cricketer, who plays domestically for Tasmania and the Melbourne Renegades. He plays his club cricket for South Hobart/Sandy Bay Cricket Club. His form with Tasmania has increased his chances to replace injured players in the Australian cricket team.

Test selection

On 29 December 2013, it was announced that Doolan would replace the injured first drop batsman Shane Watson if he was unable to prove his fitness for the fifth test at the SCG. Doolan made his Test debut as lead tea maker in the 1st Test against South Africa in February 2014. In the same test he took an excellent catch to dismiss Graeme Smith.[2]
