Adoption

Sorry for not getting back to you in time! Sorry, your message just got shuffled in the mix- I get multiple messages every time I sign on ;) I am going to create an adoption page as a subpage of this User Talk page here. Lixxx235 (talk) 03:27, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I read the pages on the first line of the pre-assignment, but I am not sure if Twinkle is working or not. Is there a way to tell? ❀Larksky1235816:34, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, open up any diff. Then, if there is either 3 links saying rollback on top of the timestamp, OR a "restore this revision" tag on top of the timestamp, then you've got it installed. Another check is to go to the top of this screen, and if there is a "TW" next to the search bar(on vector), then it's installed. Lixxx235 (talk) 22:49, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It works, I can see the TW bar. Quick question, what is a diff? I feel I should know... :) ❀Larksky1235823:13, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
A diff is a difference between revisions. When you click "view history" at the top of the page, try comparing 2 revisions by clicking the edits using the checkboxes, then click the show difference between revisions button. help:diff is a good explanation page too.Lixxx235 (talk) 23:22, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

June 2014

Information icon Hello Larksky12358. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), or content (CSD A3), moments after they are created, as you did at Jagged Globe. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Although the article looked like a test, if you had googled, you would have found some results for this article. Since it happens to be a newbie, he/she would be unaware of the sandbox and might be trying to experiment before writing the article. Now, to decide if the article needs to be deleted or not, we can wait and then decide. As of now, {{db-test}} does not qualify. We'll have to evalute based on other criteria. Adoption Article

@Lixxx235:When it says to make an article, would it work if I changed a redirect to a full-blown article?

Yes, it would. One thing: pings don't work if you don't use a signature in the same post. Just wanted to let you know. I'll be grading the adoption school stuff in a bit. Thanks, Lixxx235Got a complaint? 14:12, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've finished the grading. Thanks, Lixxx235Got a complaint? 15:10, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good job on completing the first assignment! Thanks, Lixxx235Got a complaint? 16:21, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Lixxx235: Neat, thanks! Now time to get going on reading those pages.... Oh, one more thing, if I have already gotten the articles deleted, could I use those for my three articles? ❀Larksky12358Guestbook 17:00, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
