Medopad is a healthcare technology company headquartered in London, UK, with international offices in Salt Lake City, USA, Munich, Germany, and Dubai, UAE. It offers a suite of CE certified iPad applications that integrate health data from existing hospital databases and securely sends it to healthcare professionals' mobile devices. [1]


Adoption

BMI Healthcare, the largest private hospital group in the UK with 66 private hospitals [2], has been the first to work with the company [3][4], and Medopad is an National Health Service supplier [5]

Technology and Products

Healthcare professionals can securely access lab results, images, clinical notes, and primary care data via iPads and other mobile devices. [6] In November 2013, Medopad was the first approved mobile health solution and received CE approval from the UK Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency. [7]

Medopad launched the first two enterprise integrated Google Glass apps in 2013[8] and announced them to the world at CeBIT 2014 in Germany.[1][9][10] Medopad Google Glass Integration allows doctors to communicate and collaborate, take and share pictures or record video, and view patient records.[1] Medopad Google Glass Alert allows a doctor to identify items they would like to be alerted about and receive the information immediately as it becomes available. [10]

Involved Parties

Medopad strategic partners include Vodafone [9], Intel [11], and IBM[12].

Among the institutional investors are Sandbox Industries (Healthbox) [13][14][15] [10], Bupa, and Bayer. [12]

Among the angel investors are Tony Brown, Non-Executive Director of the NHS, [4] and Stefan Gries of BlackRock. [16]

The supervisory board includes, among others, John Tate [17], BBC’s Director of Policy and Strategy [18], and Paul Richardson, NHS executive. [19][16]

Medopad is one of the founding members of the Manchester mHealth Ecosystem. [20]
