Unbehagen is the second and last album by the Nina Hagen Band before the solo career of singer Nina Hagen. However, By the time of recording, relations between Hagen and the other band members had deteriorated over the course of the European tour for the first album and Hagen decided to leave the band in 1979, though she was still under contract to produce a second album. This LP, Unbehagen (which in German also means discomfort or unease but can be seen as a pun on the band name), was eventually produced with the band recording their tracks in Berlin and Hagen recording the vocals in Los Angeles. "Wenn ich ein Junge wär" was recorded live in April 1979 at the Saarbrücken Congress Hall.
