Days Before Rodeo is the sophomore mixtape by American hip hop recording artist Travis Scott. The mixtape was released on August 18, 2014 for free by Grand Hustle Records and Epic Records. The mixtape had not gone through the same delays as Owl Pharaoh, with Scott confirming the date in early August via Twitter. The mixtape features guest appearances from Young Thug, The 1975, Big Sean, Rich Homie Quan, Migos, and PeeWee Longway.

Background

In early August, Scott took to Twitter to announce that he was set to release ten new songs in the same month. Later the same day, he tweeted the title of the project, Days Before Rodeo, before initiating a countdown every day until August 10, 2014. On August 17, 2014, Scott tweeted a link to his website, which contained the tracklist and artwork of the EP. [2]

Release and promotion

The first song released in promotion for the mixtape was "Don't Play", featuring fellow American hip hop recording artist Big Sean and British Alternative rock band The 1975. It was released on July 11, 2014. The production was handled by Vinylz, Allen Ritter and Scott himself.
