Jerry Lee Rice, Jr. (born July 27, 1991) is an American football wide receiver for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The Redskins signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

Early life and education

Rice was born in Atherton, California and graduated from Menlo School. He played college football at UCLA, graduating with a bachelor's degree in June 2013.[1] He decided to forego his final year of eligibility at UCLA to earn his master's degree at the UNLV, where he also played football.[2]

Professional career

After his college career, he had tried out for the Baltimore Ravens, but wasn't signed.[3] He also tried out for the San Francisco 49ers, the team his father played for.[4] On June 26, 2014, he signed a contract with the Washington Redskins.[5] On August 1, he suffered a torn labrum in training camp.[6] Two days later, the Redskins waived/injured.[7] He was placed on the Redskins' injured reserve after clearing waivers.[8]

Personal

Rice is the son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice.[9]
