Atmakur, is a town and Mandal headquarters located in Mahbubnagar district in the Andhra Pradesh state of India. The town is also taluka headquarters, it is a State Assembly constituency reserved for OCs. The current MLA is K. Dayakar Reddy. Atmakur is also famous for the SAI BABA Temple made of pure white Marble stone in Andhra Pradesh.The A in the brackets denotes Amarchinta which was the former assembly constituency. A dam named PJP (Priyadarshini Jurala Project) just 17 km away from the town Atmakur.It is a replica plan of Nagaruna Sagar Dam with more than 70 gates and also 5 hydel gates for electricity production. A fresh reservoir Ramanpad Dam is 4 km from the Town which supplies the drinking water to the entire home district.But now the water is low. The present Sarpanch of the Atmakur town is M.Gangadhar Goud. The Sarpanch is becoming a role model to be the best Sarpanch and doing the good things with his naive ideas implementation.
