Eos Press is an American game publisher, which was established in 2001 in Seattle, Washington, as "Hawthorn Hobgoblin Press". Eos has expanded and now has operations in Taiwan, Singapore, and Suzhou, China. Eos is named after the ancient Greek goddess of the dawn.
History
Hawthorn Hobgoblin Press was founded on January 12, 2001, by financier businessman Hsin Chen, along with Aron Anderson, a game designer who owns "The Dreaming", a Seattle comic and game store.[1] They created this company to publish Godlike, a game created by the founders' friends Dennis Detwiller and Greg Stolze.[1] In 2003 they renamed the company "Eos Press." Brad Eliott joined Eos as their Business Manager.[1]
The current company was formed by Hsin Chen (Owner and Director), Jesse Covner (Partner and General Manager) and David Ramirez (Game Project Manager).
In 2010 Eos signed a famed RPG designer and Nobilis creator, Dr. Jenna Moran, formerly known as Rebecca Bergstrom, in an exclusive contract to create future games and properties. Eos has published the 3rd edition of Nobilis and a supplement, along with more such supplements (and other material from Dr. Moran) planned in the future.
Products
Notable products published by the company are the card games Abuse: The Final Insult; Creatures and Cultists; and The Wormwood Tarot, a Victorian, gothic-inspired tarot set.
Eos also publishes role-playing games, including Godlike, under the name Hobgoblin; Unhallowed Metropolis, a game of neovictorian horror; and Weapons of the Gods, a Wuxia game inspired by the comic of the same name.
