Remake reminiscent of Gilligan's Island? I don't think this can be right, although I have never seen G.I. Is there anyone who has seen both who can confirm this please? DavidFarmbrough 12:58 (BST) 6 September 2005
- I've heard very bad things about the musical. It's just a joke and doesn't really belong here, but it's so funny, I'm not going to remove it. Besides, the comparison is an insult to Gilligan's Island. Clarityfiend 04:32, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've seen both films, and believe you me, it is b-a-d. Even the top-notch cast (or miscast) would not save this turkey. And I agree with Clarityfiend, it is an insult to Gilligan's Island. RashBold Talk to me 22:50, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Shortened version
The reason for the editing currently given on the page is a new one on me. I thought it was cut down to fit a double bill after FDR said a certain group of bombers involved in an air raid on Japan "came from Shangri La". Unfortunately, my source isn't handy (it was either in a Halliwell book or on the DVD commentary, which goes deeply into the restoration). Any help would be appreciated. --Enwilson (talk) 20:35, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Ending
The film does not show that Conway found Shangra-la. He sets toward it with bells ringing toward the end with the hope that he does find it but this is a remote hope. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.85.0.47 (talk) 02:28, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- WRONG! i just watched/viewed it.. bells ringing, Conway looks up from tramping thru the snow to see the mountain doorway w/ the wooden railing and Shangra-la beyond!! 76.218.248.127 (talk) 17:15, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
2013 restoration
Does the 2013 digital restoration of the film restore its original length? Given the cuts to the film, this should be mentioned.
