what year is this?

What year is the Camaro pictured here? It would be nice to figure out its proper year so that we can place it into the correct section. Anyone know? My knowledge on the third-gen is not so good. Roguegeek (talk) 03:07, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It can be anywhere in the 88-90 range. 85-90 body style, IROC vinyls at the back of doors instead of front, two grooves per spoke on rims instead of one... LT1 305?

Corrections and comments

The article needs some minor corrections:

1982

  • `Berlinetta' and `Cross Fire Injection': apostrophes do not match.
  • "all aluminum": it should be written as "all-aluminum".

1985

  • "Camaro IROC-Z was": I don't understand why IROC-Z should be in italic.

1986

  • "IROC-Zs; In": what follows a semicolon should not be capitalized unless strictly necessary.

1987

  • The 350 did come with t-tops or as GM calls them removable roof panels.
  • The article talks about "IROC-Z28", "IROC-Z" and "Z28". What are the differences?
  • "t-top" and "T-Top": everything should be "t-top".
  • "VIN code of 2" is followed by "VIN code of 3": why should the second VIN link instead of the first one?

1989

  • "RPO G92 also included the aforementioned dual-converter exhaust; 4-wheel disc brakes (RPO J65); engine oil cooler; P245/50ZR16 Goodyear Eagle unidirectional tires; a 135 mph (217 km/h) speedometer; and a tachometer with a 5,500 rpm redline."

I don't see the need of using semicolons instead of comas.

  • "beefed up": it should be written as beefed-up.

I also add two comments:

  • Although the world "coupe" is widely used in English, it should be written as "coupé" to reflet the way it sounds.
  • It would be nice to have a picture for every production year.

Bad Bad Bad PICTURESSSSSSSSSS !

Please Wikipedia!!!! Clear these photos off of this site...These pictures are nothing more than Vanity shots for undeserving vehicles and persons... They are incomplete and innacurate photos and these personal contributions should never be allowed. I have a beautiful 1982 Camaro Z28 with T-Top and 4 Speed that should also not be allowed in here. It is not a perfect replica of a production vehicle and should never be seen as a representative sample of any model year of Camaro. Not to mention you allowed a person to add pictures of a hubcapless and Z28 insignia removed vehicle???? Please set a policy of only allowing pictures and descriptions that come directly from sales brochures and pamplets!!!!! It would be impossible to improve on all comments already made by manufacturers comments and descriptions in all sales materials!!!! The stuff that has been allowed here makes Wikipedia a JUNK source of info. Twin-turbo option for 1987

Yes, Chevrolet actually did offer a twin-turbo option that produces 560 hp (and 23 psi of boost). I saw the third model at school today. All original. And I believe the statements don't need to be referenced because WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH says it's okay. One of the senior-grade girls owns the car, and it's at the school. To protect her privacy I'm not telling you her name. While this twin-turbo kit was not a production option, it was an option for 1987 that could be installed via dealer order. Chevrolet cancelled the option due to the fact that the twin-turbo Camaro was too powerful (more powerful than any Corvette made before the 2009 ZR1). 107.77.75.77 (talk) 00:36, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you Bought the Car, or have any documentation from Chevrolet regarding this option, it is False and only a Rumor at best. There are no articles are documentations anywhere of such a car, and your opinion of it being factory at a High School that a young girl owns, is not considered Legitimate.
