Jorabat is a village in both Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya, India and Kamrup Metropolitan district, Assam, India. With greater parts in Kamrup Metropolitan district of Assam in the Northeastern part of India.[1] The main attraction of this place is that it is a place in which we may find people of all communities of India living in harmony and peace which is hard to find in the rest of North east India, A majority of the people living in Jorabat are businessmen. The Nepalese and Bihari constitute a majority in the Area.

Geography

It is located very near to the city of Guwahati, Assam in Kamrup Metropolitan district.[2]

Location

National Highway 40 links Jorabat to Jowai via Shillong.[3] National Highway 37 passes through Jorabat and connects parts of upper Assam with Guwahati city.[4] Jorabat is divided into two parts former is in Meghalaya and latter is in Assam [5].
