Ari Lehman (born May 2, 1965 in New York, New York) is a Jewish-American performing artist and actor. He is best known for having played the first Jason Voorhees as a child in the Paramount horror film "Friday the 13th".

Film career

Lehman made his film debut in Sean S. Cunningham's "Manny's Orphans". In Friday the 13th (1980 film), he played the role of a child Jason Voorhees and appeared at the end of the film. Since then, Ari Lehman has not had mainstream acting success, however has appeared in 7 independent and student films, along with several YouTube videos.[1]

Music career

In 2003, Lehman formed his band First Jason, which is based upon his role as Jason Voorhees.[2] First Jason is a punk metal and has two self-released two albums: Jason is Watching! (2009), Chuck Lescewicz "Nefarious" from Chicago death metal band Macabre playing bass, and Amit Shamir "Cleaver" from New York hardcore punk band CRO-MAGS on drums; "Heed My Warning,"(2013) also alternately includes Amit Shamir and Ryan Adomaitis, on drums.

Lehman has also composed, performed and recorded a number of soundtracks for independent films, including Alexia Anastasio's critically acclaimed all-female "Salome", and Vam Films' "Vampir athe Movie" which received the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for the Best Independent Film of 2007.[citation needed]
