CLC (Korean씨엘씨; RRssielssi) which stands for CrystaL Clear is a five-member South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2015.[1] They made their debut with the EP First Love the 19th of March.

History

Pre-debut

The group started gaining attention for their non-profit street performances to help children with disabilities [1] [2] and because the Thailand member Sorn won the first season of K-Pop Star Hunt, in which she was able to become a trainee under Cube Entertainment.[3] The group also appeared in G.NA's MV G.NA's Secret and acted as backdancers in the stage performances of the song.[4] Originally, they were going to debut as six members with Go Seohyun but she left before they debuted.

2015: Debut with First Love

On December 8, 2014 Cube announced that they would debut a multi-national girl group next year and announced that one of the members of the group was Sorn.[5] The 13th of March the group launched their official Twitter and Facebook and released the teaser images of each member.[6] It was announced that the title track was called Pepe and that they would debut the 19th of March.[7] On the 16th they released the video teaser for Pepe.[8] The first time the group revealed the title track Pepe and one of the tracks of the album First Love was at their debut showcase on the 18th of the same month in the Acts Hotel in Seoul.[9][10] The MV and album First Love were finally released the 19th of March and they debuted the same day on Mnet's M! Countdown.[11] It was revealed that Rain had created the point choreography of the dance for Pepe. [12][13]
