The button is Reddit's April Fools' Day joke for April 1, 2015.[1] On the main page of the custom subreddit visitors see a button protected by a Molly-guard, a timer counting down from 60 seconds,[2] and a count of how many people have participated by pressing the button.[3] Only users created before April 1, 2015 can press the button and each user can only press it once.[4] Over 700,000 people have pressed the button,[5] and a website reporting live statistics has been created.[6] Speculation on how long it will last[7] and some good humored[8] controversy[9] and stress over the decision to press the button[10] have been reported around the web. A fundraising [11] campaign has also been set up to reward the first user granted with a red flair.
