A video editing card is a computer expansion card that allows the connection of a digital or analogue source of video to the computer for the purpose of importing the video into the computer and editing it. These cards often have dedicated hardware for the express purpose of handling the rendering and encoding of video streams. A real-time video editing card is one that takes no longer to render or encode a video than the length of that video clip itself.
