Dishonored 2 is an upcoming Stealth RPG video game being developed by Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks. The sequel to Dishonored, it is expected to be released in the first or second quarter of 2016 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.[1][2][3]

Gameplay

Players can choose to play as Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano, respectively the princess and the protagonist from Dishonored. Players can also choose whether or not to play stealthily, and can finish the game without killing. Like in the original game, the player works to save the Empire of the Isles, but from an "otherworldly usurper".[1]

Plot

Dishonored 2 is set 15 years after The Dunwall Plague. Emily has become an Assassin attempting to discover the corruption behind The Dunwall Plague. The sequel takes place on the island of Serkonos, one of the four major islands of the Empire, where Corvo was born.

Development

Dishonored 2 is being developed in Lyon by Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks.[1][4] According to a reveal trailer, the game will be running on the Bethesda's new internal "Void" engine [based on id tech 6], as opposed to Unreal Engine.

Release

It was formally announced during Bethesda's Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 press conference by Dishonored co-directors Raphael Colantonio and Harvey Smith,[1] but was leaked the night before during a rehearsal.[5]
