Pisco Sour Infobox

The Pisco Sour is an IBA drink. Quote the Infobox Cocktail template, section on ingredients: "If the drink is an IBA Official Cocktail, only the official ingredients should be listed." There is no lime in the IBA recipe, per http://iba-world.com/new-era-drinks/ Quote the section on footnoes: "Footnotes are printed in very small text, and are most useful for minor notes or clarifications of other information mentioned in the infobox.", emphasis mine. There IS no lime in the official recipe, thus there is none in the infobox, thus the footnotes section is not meant to include such. ANY reference to a Peruvian or Chilean recipe, which according to the repeatedly replaced text include lime, and EXclude lemon in both cases, goes in the ARTICLE, not in the infobox. Full stop, end of story. If ANYONE is being a vandal here, it's YOU, adding information that DOES NOT BELONG. 85.229.48.166 (talk) 15:55, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The infobox (in all articles) is meant to serve as a brief summary of the article's information. The Pisco sour is an IBA drink, sure, but it also is a traditional drink of Peru and Chile that has unique ingredients in both countries. The footnote is clearly a clarification of this matter, lest the reader get the impression that there is only one recipe for Pisco sour. There is no such thing as a single "official recipe" for the drink; and that is the real end of the story.
@Dentren: Whenever you have some time, please let me know your thoughts on the matter.--MarshalN20 Talk 19:10, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also, at no point did I say you were a vandal. There is a difference between behavior and being. Vandalism is a behavior. If I spray paint the wall in a private property, I committed an act of vandalism. However, this doesn't make me a vandal; there needs to be a pattern of behavior before such a title can be bestowed unto anyone.
That being clarified, I do not approve you calling me a vandal as it is a personal attack. Kindly stop. Have a good day.--MarshalN20 Talk 19:31, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"The infobox (in all articles) is meant to serve as a brief summary of the article's information." No. It is not. It is there to present a easy-to-find, consistant reference to the pertinent information of the drink. What it contains, in what amounts, prepared how, presented how. As noted. Ingredients, measures of same, preparation, garnish, presentation. That is all. The footnotes should not even be used, by preference, and IF used, should contain clarifications of what is mentioned in the infobox. There is no lime in the infobox. Thus, there is no mentioning the Peruvian or Chilean variations in the footnotes...because there ARE no such variations to the IBA Official Pisco Sour. Full stop, end of story. The article, in the other hand, can and should contain things like variations, history, and so on and so forth, for further reading. But the infobox is meant to be a quick reference of the drink. Nothing more. "There is no such thing as a single "official recipe" for the drink" Yes, there is. As outlined by the template information for the 'infobox cocktail'. Otherwise, there wouldn't BE a specific "IBA" tag to signify "IBA Official Cocktail". And finally, as for you not saying I am a vandal... "your removal of the text, without discussion, is nothing more than vandalism". To accuse someone of an act is to say that the person is someone commiting such acts. Vandalism is commited by a vandal. Murder is committed by a murderer. And so on and so forth. Thus, yes. You said I am a vandal. Seems the shoe doesn't fit NEARLY as well on the other foot? 85.229.48.166 (talk) 14:30, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
While the drink is certainly Peruvian origin it has evolved over time and now it is bi-national drink with two main versions. Regarding the use of footnotes I am not sure if key lime is different from pica lime, which might be just a local name. Is it not possible to make the footnotes bigger with some formatting <large> or simmilar? Dentren | Talk 07:23, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
