Rock Mafia is an American xdd record production/songwriting team, consisting of Tim James and Antonina Armato[1] who are credited for writing and producing many pop and rock artists beginning in the early 2000s such as Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Aura Dione, No Doubt, Daughtry, Wyclef Jean, Green Day, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Flo Rida, Ellie Goulding, Demi Lovato, David Archuleta, Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice, Hoku, Vanessa Hudgens, Tokio Hotel. Rock Mafia have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, and over 10 million albums alone in 2007.[citation needed]

Career

Rock Mafia has helped drive many recording artists in the 2000s to stardom, including Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Aly and AJ, Sick Puppies. In addition, they have worked with countless other artists, from the likes of No Doubt, Daughtry, Wyclef Jean, Green Day, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Flo Rida, Ellie Goulding, Demi Lovato, Aura Dione, David Archuleta, Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice, Hoku, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, Lucy Hale, Pia Toscano, to Stefano.[citation needed] In late 2010, Rock Mafia released a song featuring James' own vocals entitled "The Big Bang".[citation needed] The song was used as the theme song for the VH1 reality show "Mob Wives."[citation needed] "The Big Bang" music video featured Miley Cyrus and Kevin Zegers and currently has more than 27.7 million views on YouTube.[2] Rock Mafia were reportedly in talks with potential writers and producers to bring the music video for "The Big Bang" to the big screens as a feature film, with Armato revealing on her Twitter that she had been meeting with Tish Cyrus (Miley Cyrus' mother) and Jennifer Todd (producer of Alice in Wonderland and Memento) to work on creating the movie.[3]"The Big Bang" is featured on the video game FIFA 12, which launched in September 2011, and their song "Fly or Die" is part of the soundtrack in FIFA 13.[citation needed] The duo remain on the FIFA 13 soundtrack to have songs in both FIFA 12 and 13. Their song "I Am" featuring Wyclef Jean, Bill Kaulitz and David Correy is part of the FIFA 14 sound track.[4]

Rock Mafia scored a hit in Europe with Aura Dione's hit single "Friends," a song written and produced together with David Jost.[5] A clip showing Miley Cyrus recording vocals over the "Pimps and Hos" track, which has now been renamed to "Morning Sun," has been posted online.[6] Rock Mafia was one of the handful of production teams handpicked by Jimmy Iovine to help coach and record with contestants from American Idol Season 10.[citation needed]
