Airlift is an upcoming Indian film directed by Raja Krishna Menon, and starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles, and is scheduled for release on 22 January 2016.[2] The film is based on biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait War.[3]

Filming and development

Principal photography of the film started on February 2015.[7][8] The first schedule of the film were reportedly shot in Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates in early March 2015,[9] The sets were re-created to depict Kuwait during 1990.[10] whereas, the second schedule of the film will be shot in Rajasthan, India.[11] Kumar reportedly learnt Arabic language, as the actor portrayed Kuwait-based businessman.[12][13]
