Emmy

Added minor edits, episode and character tables, drawing on various web sources and memory of this great cop drama series with hope that other editors will add and correct this appreciation the show. Unsure about a previous contributor's attribution of the Best Drama Emmy for two specific episodes -- have not found a reference for this and it is not documented on the International Emmys website Gondwanabe (talk) 03:14, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added the reference for the award -- the mention of the two specific episodes appears incorrect and I removed it. CactusWriter | needles 09:09, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Revealing info

I quite like the way this is going. Should it be revealed in Ingrid's bio that Tobias dies though? Pureaddiction (talk) 09:56, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If that is what happens in that episode, then, yes, it should be revealed. The most important plot points should be included in each episode description. These descriptions should be encyclopedic and comprehensive. That is, each includes the important points from start to finish -- including the conclusion or "spoilers". This is as opposed to taglines or tv guide style info which are promotional and considered advertising. (See Wikipedia:Plot summaries#The spoiler issue). Although these descriptions can't cover the entire episode in the detail that a plot summary on an individual article does -- the principle still holds. And, by the way, I am also pleased to see the list getting filled out. I think the recent efforts are great. CactusWriter | needles 11:35, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I understand in terms of the episode synopses it should be included. I was thinking about the Ingrid's quick character biography. If someone reads the episode synopses they should expect spoilers but a quick description of the characters I am not so sure about. I am happy to see the way it's going. Considering last I checked it was pretty bare. Pureaddiction (talk) 21:20, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay - sorry for my original misunderstanding. If the information is critical to her character then, yes, it should be included as part of the description. An encyclopedic article simply tries to contain all relevant information. A reader should gain as complete an understanding of the show as possible without needing to see it. Locations

Each episode takes place in a different city in the Danish province (i.e. outside Copenhagen). This city is named in the begiing and shown in small scenes. Shouldn't we therefore also list the different locations? Krimidoedel 21 February 2009

DVD info

Please add information about DVDs.

In the European PAL area it seems like the DVD sets match the four original Danish broadcast series of 32 episodes. But in the US the 32 episodes were repackaged into 3 sets, apparently without acknowledgement of the re-arrangement.

"In a somewhat unusual decision, the DVD label MHZ has released the entire series on three different collections. These are NOT divided by customary seasons, but by the number of episodes. ... kind of weird to have Season Two (for example) stop on Set One and resume on Set Two...

  • 1) Set One contains Episodes 1-12 which represent all of Season One (from 2000) and some of Season Two (from 2001). It's a four disc set with three, hour long episodes per disc.
  • 2) Set Two contains episodes 13-24 which conclude Season Two and continue into Season Three (from 2002). It is also a four disc set.
  • 3) Set Three has the remaining episodes (25-32) representing the end of Season Three and the Season Four wrap-up (from 2003-4). It is a three disc set as it only has eight episodes."

"... how the 32 episodes of Unit One have been packaged. The Series 1 DVD set contains episodes #1-12. The Season 2 DVD set contains episodes #13-24. The Season 3 DVD set contains episodes 25-32 (just 8 episodes). That's the entire 32 episode opus. The "seasons", as documented on IMDB and elsewhere, have Season 1 as ep1-9, Season 2 as ep10-16, Season 3 as ep17-30 and Season 4 as ep31-32... the episode count per season varied as 9,8,13 and 2."
