Timothy Canova (born circa 1960-61)[1] is an American politician currently seeking Florida's 23rd congressional district. He is running against incumbent representative, and current Democratic National Committee Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Tim Canova is a staunch supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, calling it "a great public service by showing the ongoing and pervasive racial discrimination in our entire criminal justice system, which needs reform from top to bottom and at every level."[2]
Free trade
Canova opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership and has criticized Debbie Wasserman Schultz for fast-tracking the bill.[3]
GMO labeling
Tim Canova supports labeling Genetically modified food.[2]
Internet privacy
Canova opposes Stop Online Piracy Act.
LGBTQ rights
Canova supports same-sex marriage in the United States, and believes that further is needed to be done to protect LGBTQ Americans in the workforce.
Minimum wage
Tim Canova supports raising the minimum wage to $15, and has expressed support in a basic income for Americans, a system that has been explored in several Western European nations.[2]
