Maria Grace Sansone[1] (born February 26, 1981 in Erie, Pennsylvania) is an American television personality, and currently the co-anchor of Good Day LA on KTTV FOX 11 in Los Angeles. She is former field reporter for WNBC 4 New York who appeared daily on LX New York. Sansone is television host and reporter who has contributed to Access Hollywood, Extra, ABC, NBC, MTV, TV Guide Network, Yahoo!, CBS Sports, NESN and ESPN.

Biography

Maria Sansone gained celebrity at a very young age when a local reporter, Mike Gallagher discovered her while competing in a kids slam-dunk contest in Erie, Pennsylvania. After interviewing her for the local news he was impressed by the 11-year-old Sansone, and gave her a sports segment called "Down to Size" on WJET-TV which appeared weekly on the ABC affiliate in Erie, Pennsylvania. She went on to interview Jim Kelly of the Buffalo Bills; Michael Jordan; Bill Cowher, coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers; baseball legend Tommy Lasorda; and others before her 13th birthday.

She quickly got picked up by ABC Sports to do live sideline reporting for their coverage of the Little League World Series which earned her the title “Youngest Reporter in the History of Network Television”. As result, Sansone was a guest on Tonight Show with Jay Leno in December 1992.

Sansone hosted her own show on ABC called Wide World of Sports for Kids where she reported from various sporting events including the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and The Kentucky Derby. She also co-hosted Gladiators 2000 with American Idol's, Ryan Seacrest and did spot reporting for NBA Inside Stuff.

Sansone played basketball while attending high school at Villa Maria Academy (Erie, Pennsylvania) and graduated from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications with degrees in Communications and Political Science. While still in college she filled in as co-host on Live with Regis and Kelly with Regis Philbin. Upon graduation Maria moved to Manhattan where she became a VJ for MTV Networks and hosted web sensation, "The 9" on Yahoo as well as Pop Tub on YouTube.

While in New York City, Sansone was a field reporter for WNBC 4 New York appearing daily on LX New York. She also hosted the nationally syndicated travel show, LXTV 1st Look on NBC. She also hosted reality competition series, On the Rocks: Search for America’s Best Bartender on NBC.

Sansone had also been a correspondent and host of TV Guide Network’s live coverage of award season. Maria has interviewed pop culture icons and superstars alike covering all of the big events from the Grammy’s to the Academy Awards. In a television career than has already spanned two decades, Sansone has contributed to Access Hollywood, Extra, ABC's On the Red Carpet, NBC, TV Guide Network, CBS Sports, NESN, and ESPN.

Sansone was named co-anchor of KTTV's (Fox Channel 11) Good Day LA on September 27, 2012.

She has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, The CBS Early Show, Dateline NBC. Maria currently resides in Los Angeles, California and is represented by Ken Lindner and Associates.

Personal life

Sansone married her husband, Joshua Guthartz in 2008. On July 15, 2013, live on Good Day LA, she announced that she was having a baby due around Christmas time. Their daughter, Grace Louise was born on December 31, 2013.
