Meridas (proper name Vladimír Socha) was born on January 1st, 1982 in Hradec Králové (eastern Czech Republic). He gained a diploma at the University of Hradec Králové (title "Magister"). He also works as a part-time teacher in the elementary school. His main interests lie in paleontology, biology and history. He's also particularly interested in athletics (track and field).

He publishes articles in magazines and wrote (so far) eight books about dinosaurs.
