Brenten William "Billy" Simmonds ( 21/11/1980) of Brisbane, Australia, is a professional Bodybuilder,[1] competing in the USA based worldwide organization the Professional Natural Bodybuilding Association. He is also a Vegan.[2]

In 2014, Billy Simmonds was one of five professionally classed 'natural' (as defined by the World Anti Doping Authority male bodybuilders in Australia.[3] In 2009 he won the ‘Natural Mr. Universe’ title in Hollywood, California.[4][5][6]

Billy Simmonds is a competitive Powerlifter with the worldwide organization the IPF, a large powerlifting organization which follows the IOC and WADA drug testing standards.[7] In 2011 Billy placed within the top five of his division in Australia. [8] He is an internationally qualified personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach.

Billy Simmonds is also a Vegan,[9] and is the only current professional in his sport that follows such a lifestyle.[10][11] He is the first vegan/vegetarian to win the Mr. Universe title since Bill Pearl in 1971.

Simmonds is a co-inventor and chief formulator of VXS, a plant based protein powder or vegan protein powder, and he acts as brand ambassador for the product.

Simmonds is recognized in the Vegan community.[12][13] [14] [15] He is listed among Happy Cow's Famous Vegetarians. [16]

Simmonds was a guest speaker at Green Earth Day. [when?] He was a guest on three Trans 7Indonesia TV shows with a combined audience of 45m viewers and participated in the TV Show – ‘World Record’.[17] He was the Australian Celebrity Judge at Donald Trump’s Miss Universe Beauty Contest.[18] Simmonds acted as celebrity ambassador for Animals Australia[19] and was a guest speaker at World Animal Day.[20]
