Gamophobia is the fear of getting married or being in a relationship.[1] Some disciplines have attributed the phenomenon to a more general sense of aversion to an unfamiliar environment.[2] Some analysts have argued that some segments of gamophobia stems from the Enlightenment.[3] Some research suggests that this phobia is especially prominent among the post 1980s and 1990s generation.[4]
